The country of Behrain best be getting ready to party with a rock star, because none other than Andrew W.K. has been named by the U.S. Department of State as a cultural ambassador to the Middle East. He is set to travel to the island nation next month to visit music venues, elementary schools and the University of Bahrain, "all while promoting partying and world peace."

Two virtuous pursuits, indeed!

Andrew, who was extended the offer through a joint partnership between the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Manama, Bahrain, is no doubt totally stoked for his upcoming trip. "This is a tremendous invitation," he says via a post on his official website. "I'm very thankful to the Department of State for giving me the opportunity to visit a place I've never been before. And I feel very privileged and humbled by the chance to represent the United States of America and show the good people of Bahrain the power of positive partying. I can hardly wait for this adventure!"

The exact details of his trip are being kept under wraps for security reasons, but expect plenty of coverage when Andrew touches down next month in Behrain.
