The original version of the Rankin/Bass classic Christmas special, 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,' was apparently a little raw for early TV censors.

It's really not Christmas to us without at least one viewing of this classic tale with my friends and their kids. Now we're seriously considering letting them watch "Scarface" instead because it will probably be less psychologically damaging and they'll learn an important lesson about personal finance and federal law enforcement. Seriously, this version of Rudolph has more bleeps and curse words running through its frames than an edited-for-TV version of Martin Scorsese's 'Casino.'

Maybe Rudolph's nose was so red from getting smacked by Santa for cursing so much.
