Carl Lawson, one of the nation's top-rated prep defensive ends, announced Wednesday that he would play at Auburn. Lawson is a 6-foot-2, 253-pound senior at Milton High School in Alpharetta, Ga. He had 26 sacks and 36 tackles for loss in 2012.

He tweeted his commitment on Sunday evening and then reaffirmed it on Wednesday. There was speculation Lawson could flip to another school after Auburn fired head coach Gene Chizik after the season. He did not.

"I committed to Auburn the school, not the coaching staff," Lawson said Wednesday in an interview on ESPNU.

Lawson joins Montravius Adams and Elijah Daniel as five-star defensive linemen who signed with the Tigers on National College Signing Day 2013.
