Chalk and Numbers, ‘Boy’ – Free MP3 Download

Classic pop duo Chalk and Numbers are vinyl-dream-dazed escapist doo-wop at its finest. Despite living in Brooklyn, one of the most ambitious American cities, Sable Yong and Andrew Pierce harbor modest goals: to write great pop songs. Together, with a little help from Pierce's co-producer brother, Dennis, the pair are doing just that, as evidenced by the single 'Boy.'

Yong's palatable timbre blends seamlessly with Pierce's jangly tambourine and tinny guitar in this traditionally structured chorale, which emits a kind of timelessness that only the songs that inspired Chalk and Numbers typically achieve.

When we sat down with Pierce, he told us 'Boy' is "a song about realizing you've actually liked someone all along. A happy indie pop song not meant for the downers."
