Capcom recently held their annual Captivate event and showed off their upcoming lineup, which is why we've been inundated with all these great new trailers. At the event they showed off the latest look at the fifth installment in the Devil May Cry franchise, the oddly titled DmC: Devil May Cry.

Developed by Ninja Theory, the guys behind Heavenly Sword and the underrated Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, it's the first game in the series that Capcom didn't make themselves.

This is intended to be a reboot of the series with a younger, hipper new Dante that looks almost like a '90s comic book hero. Fans aren't happy with the changes already (when are they ever?) and lead producer Alex Jones has received death threats because of Dante's new look. Death threats. Over the look of a video game character, people.

Regardless of the look, the game seems to continue the combat and style that made the series so popular in the first place. Of course, with Bayonetta stomping in and showing everyone what a stylish action game could do, does Dante have a chance? We'll find out when it hits Xbox 360, PS3 and PC later this year.
