Everyone knows calling 911 is for emergencies only – however, not everyone may see eye to eye when it comes to what constitutes an emergency. Such is the case of a central Florida man who used the digits to report his wife for not letting check his Facebook in peace, even after feeding her beers.

According to the police report Doyle Hardwick stated he called emergency services because he “just wanted someone to make my wife do what I wanted her to do."  He was simply "upset about his wife sitting next to him and not going to sleep after he gave her beers to go to sleep."

Police responded to the scene (which was surprisingly a trailer park) and found Hardwick still on the phone complaining to the 911 operator. The wife, Julie Hardwick, told police her husband had asked her not to sit next to him but that she didn't feel like sitting anywhere else. Awwwwwwwww!

Who knows why Hardwick was so adamant about getting some alone time on Facebook, perhaps he wanted to like the status of a maiden from another trailer park, or even take it a step further and poke her. Hardwick was arrested for misuse of 911 but never bothered to show up for his 60-day sentence.

If you think 60-day sentence sounds harsh, Hardwick had been charged with the misuse of 911 twice prior – once for calling 911 for a ride to his daughter’s house and then for calling to report he suspected some of his neighbors were defecating in old vehicle fuel tanks. A warrant was issued for his arrest and he turned himself in Tuesday.

We’re thinking about investing in some trailer park properties in central Florida for the stories alone. Turn those tales into a Tumblr.
