Man Has a Flight Simulator In His Garage

Back in the days of video arcade games, kids would kill to have the poor man’s simulators in their living room or basement. For most of us those games would be as close as we’d get to flying a plane. But, a former pilot in Pleasanton, California has brought the thrill of flying a plane to the spot where he parks his car at home.

Unlike commercial simulators, above left, Price’s is stationary, but the projected images trick the brain into sensing motion. It has taken him nearly 20 years to complete, and he has, so far, spent about $150,000 on his hobby. His divorce in 2000 lead him to buy the actual nose section of the aircraft.

Bet his ex-wife is regretting that split now. Good for him. We can only imagine how many cougary stewardesses he’s going to take down in that cockpit.
