Former WWE and WCW wrestler Richard "Dirty Dick" Slater was arrested on Sunday morning by Florida Police in Pinellas Park. Slater is being charged with failure to appear in court on a theft charge.

Slater is being held in the Pinellas County Jail on a bond of $2,026. According to reports, Slater was scheduled to appear in court on February 25th after being arrested on February 5th. Slater failed to show for the court appearance. A warrant was issued for Slater's arrest.

Slater, a former star in the Mid-South and Mid-Atlantic wrestling scene in the 1970s and 1980s, Slater made a brief appearance in the WWF but left the federation as quickly as he came in. He made notable appearances in WCW (teaming with The Barbarian, The Great Muta and Bunkhouse Buck) and in the AWA as the bodyguard of champion Curt Henning.

This isn't Slater's first brush with the law -- in 2004 he was convicted of stabbing his former girlfriend and was sentenced to one year of house arrest and two years of probation. Slater blamed his use of painkillers as the cause of the incident.
