The Time Gary Carter Taught Us All How To Chase a Chicken

The untimely passing of former Montreal Expos and New York Mets catcher Gary Carter at the age of 57 was incredibly sad news. Not just for the baseball community, but for the ‘Baseball Bunch’ community.

Many of us grew up on reruns of ‘The Baseball Bunch’ and the different major leaguers that would show up each week to teach us how to slide, bunt and, in Gary Carter’s case, how to apply the tag at home plate.

Check out the classic closing credits of this ‘Baseball Bunch’ episode as ‘The Kid’ and Johnny Bench get the famous San Diego Chicken caught in a rundown.

We’ve got no idea why the Kool-Aid Man was there either. The 1970′s were a crazy time. Lots of drugs.
