Calling all space dweebs astronomy enthusiasts: It's not often that you get to see a space shuttle, let alone one with as much history as the Enterprise. For a very short time, you can see it in New York, so get to steppin.

The USS Intrepid museum is a WWII navy ship that has long been a New York tourism destination, but last summer things got even better, when the space shuttle Enterprise was delivered to it's new home at the museum. What I am telling you is that the Intrepid Museum just beat you at a game of checkers. They yelled "king me," and put a spaceship on top of a warship.

Sadly, the pavillion where it was displayed was shortly thereafter damaged by Hurricane Sandy. Good news, though: last month a temporary exhibit was opened, while the pavilion is repaired, so that visitors can continue to visit and learn about the history of this majestic, awesome spaceship. Show me something better than a warship museum with a spaceship on top of it, and I will hand you a mirror and say "look at this person in the face. They are wrong."

The enterprise is one of over two dozen aircrafts on display to explore and learn about, but the arrival of the Enterprise definitely makes it even more exciting. The Enterprise's regular exhibit is on schedule to re-open this spring, which is coincidentally the best time to be in New York. Go!
