Sitting comfortably in second place in the Pacific Division, the Golden State Warriors have looked pretty good this season. That is about to change.

On February 22, the Warriors will wear an alternate gold jersey with sleeves on the skin-tight tops and pinstripes on the shorts. The gaudy 'modern' uniforms are the creation of NBA uniform provider Adidas. The athletic apparel-maker cranked up its spin machine to explain why Stephen Curry, David Lee and company will look more like they are ready to compete in the Tour de France than the NBA Finals.

"(The jerseys have) the first-ever super lightweight stretch woven short with maximum ventilation for player comfort. The jersey includes armhole insets with 360-degree stretch fabric that facilitates free range of motion for the arms and shoulders."

'Free range of motion?' Seems as though players have that without the sleeves. The Warriors will wear the jerseys with sleeves for three of their remaining home games this season, but Adidas has plans to bring these hideous unis to other NBA teams next season.

More teams? Is it chilly in NBA arenas, or something? Maybe the Association should invest in new thermostats instead of these jerseys with sleeves.
