Hamburg’s ‘Miniatur Wunderland’ Is an Entire City in Miniature [VIDEO]

Miniatur-Wunderland
Miniatur Wunderland

That little train set you have winding around your Christmas tree is cute and all, but it doesn’t hold a candle to the Miniatur Wunderland.

The model railway in Hamburg, Germany is the largest in the world and, with almost 1.2 million visitors annually, it’s also one of the country’s most successful exhibitions. It features more than eight miles of railway tracks, 215,000 hand-glued figurines, and 300,000 mini LED lights that have been placed in and onto buildings, cars, aircrafts, and ships — endeavors that took more than 500,000 working hours to complete. Imagine all the curse words that come with an assembly of that level.

It’s essentially an entire city in miniature, and it has to be seen to be believed. It’s also a great place to bring a date because the rest of the night everything will seem massive. Everything. We are pointing at your crotch.
