A Swedish man was recently awarded unemployment benefits after getting his addiction to heavy metal music classified as a disability.

42-year-old Roger Tullgren is a self-described metal head who says he got hooked on the stuff when his older brother brought home a Black Sabbath album in 1971. Since then, his psychological addiction has led, he claims, to a complete heavy metal lifestyle; long black hair, numerous tattoos and plenty of skull and crossbones jewelry. Tullgren claims his condition caused him to attend almost 300 concerts last year, leading to him getting fired for skipping work and becoming reliant on welfare payments.

But Tullgren was able to convince three different psychologists that his addiction to the heavy metal lifestyle constituted a workplace disability, which entitles him to extra welfare benefits.

Tullgren has since been able to find part-time work as a dishwasher, thanks to an understanding boss who allows Tullgren to dress as he pleases and to listen to heavy metal while at work, so long as it doesn't bother the customers. He is also allowed to make up any time he misses while attending concerts.

Now, about our pesky babe addiction...
