Sometimes in this life, we are branded by our own indiscretions, which often serve as a cautionary tale for those members of civil society that have not yet crossed over into the wicked world of retail sex, drugs and bad tattoos.

However, hookers in California just might get the opportunity to have some of those indiscretions removed.

No, were not talking about their genital warts, we are talking about a new proposal being pushed by Assemblyman Anthony Portantino that will allow prostitutes to have their tattoos removed for free as a means to help the former ladies of the evening join the ranks of productive, closed-legged society.

Portantino says he wants this bill to pass because helping former prostitutes get a new lease on life is the sensible, humane thing to do. Not to mention it doesn’t hurt to have your name attached to something that might help you get a few bucks knocked off a good old fashion knob slobbin'.

“We’ve talked to a young woman who’s constantly asked ‘What’s that name on her neck?’ It was her pimp who branded her as a teenager,” Portantino said. “She’s got to carry that around the rest of her life.”

The “Prostitute Tattoo Removal” bill would permit women who used to sling skin for money to have all of their tattoos removed, similar to the way that some existing federally funded programs benefit reformed gang members.

While some taxpayers say they do not want to pay for the removal of a hooker ink, others believe it is a great way to help turn things around for women literally recovering from the daily perils of the bump and grind.

The bill already has bipartisan support, and only needs to pass a final Senate vote and be signed into law by Governor Brown before the state can begin cosmetically washing away the sins of the California hooker.

Now, about those genital warts…
