Moms Eat for Free at Hooters on Mother’s Day, It’s the Guilt That Will Cost You

Worried about where to take your mom on Mother’s Day to show her just how much you appreciate her?

Well, Hooters is here to help.

The popular chain is letting moms eat for free this Mother’s Day at every one of its locations throughout the US, after successfully launching the campaign last year. Oh, sure, it’s only for an entrée up to $10 and you must also buy a drink, but, hey, a deal is a deal and your mom might even be touched you’re watching those pennies while you still express your gratitude to the woman who brought you into this world.

Even though, "You treat your mom to a free meal at Hooters" sounds like the punchline to one of Jeff Foxworthy's "You know you're a redneck" bits, vp of marketing Andrew Pudduck says it’s the perfect gift:

It’s about time to skip the tea sandwiches and doilies and truly thank mom for fixing boo-boos, doing endless loads of laundry and drying our tears during that last breakup.”

Hooters expects 20,000 moms to stop by to enjoy the free grub. We expect 20,000 mothers to tell their kids to stop slouching and make them feel guilty for not buying them flowers, but that’s another matter altogether.

Moms don’t need a coupon to take advantage of the promotion, but they do need to be accompanied by one of their kids, who will no doubt spend more time pretending to drop their napkins when a waitress walks by than telling their mom how much her love and support over the years has helped mold them into the person they are today.
