Robert has been working out consistently for several months now, but still has some excess weight that just won’t come off. He’s wondering if getting rid of some extra pounds will help him do better in the dating scene.

Dr. Fisch's Advice:

First off, if you want to attract a woman, you don’t have to have the best body in the world.  You just need to be confident in your own skin. When it comes to women, it’s not that you need to look good; you just need to be able to tell them that they look good. If you’re a good looking 25 year old guy, all you need to do is compliment the girl you’re with and you’ll be in good shape.

To get to the weight you’re trying to hit, you would need to starve yourself. In order to have a six pack, you need to have almost zero body fat. There was a study released recently involving the cover models that appear on the covers of magazines like Men’s Health, and it was revealed that these models admitted to eating almost nothing, sometimes less than 2000 calories a day, and still work out seven days a week. This is something I absolutely do not recommend.

The point is, don’t overdo it, and don’t be obsessed with your physique. If you’re good at what you’re doing, and you're confident in yourself, you'll attract women.
