Is keeping my cell phone in my pocket raising my chances of getting testicular cancer? -- Matthew, 27, Wisconsin

It’s highly unlikely that cell phone use is connected to any type of cancer, though we have not, as a society, been using cell phones long enough to say for certain.

Most attention has been on whether heavy cell phone use is linked to brain cancer. Thus far, the answer appears to be “no.” For example the incidence of brain cancer actually declined in the US between 1987 and 2007—and in the UK and Scandinavian countries (which have had a longer history of cell use) brain cancer rates are also flat or declining.

Research continues, and some scientists are more concerned about cell phones than others. But I believe guys should worry a lot more about eating right and exercising than about the effect of their cell phones on their family jewels.
