Louisville overcame a horrifying injury to one of its players and beat Duke in the Midwest Regional final on Sunday to advance to the Final Four.

Russ Smith scored 23 points and top-seeded Louisville shook off a gruesome injury to one of its players and routed second-seeded Duke, 85-63, in the 2013 NCAA tournament's Midwest Regional final in Indianapolis on Sunday. With the Cardinals ahead 21-17 in the first half, Louisville's Kevin Ware defended against a successful 3-point attempt by Tyler Thornton of Duke. Ware suffered an apparent broken leg as he landed out of bounds next to the Cardinals' bench. The game was halted for 10 minutes while Ware was attended to by medical personnel and then taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

Peyton Siva scored 16 points and Gorgui Dieng added 14 points and 11 rebounds for Louisville. With the victory, the Cardinals advanced to play West Regional champ Wichita State in the 2013 Final Four in Atlanta next Saturday. It's the program's second consecutive appearance in the national semifinals.

Mason Plumlee scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Blue Devils.
