The new music releases for January 2013 will make you want to change your life.

January represents the calendar turning on another year and all those "new year, new you" resolutions (aka BS) that have already been broken by the afternoon of January 1 as you try and recover from the previous night's hangover. In honor of the new year, we present our list of noteworthy new music releases for January 2013. While the first month of the year is often light on new releases, since labels issue their "top dog" albums in November and December to cash in on the holiday shopping season, there are still some quality tunes on the horizon for fans of all genres of music.

Here's a rundown of what to expect from the new music releases for January 2013! Use those gift cards you got over the holidays to pump your iPod or music listening device full of new tuneage.

If you like gothy, guyliner-wearing hard rock with a Motley Crue-like glam pulse, then check out Black Veil Brides' new release 'Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones.' Also, hulking Pantera frontman Philip Anselmo has partnered with metal heshers Warbeast on a split release. That's a perfect release to pipe into your ears while working out; it gets the adrenaline and blood coursing through your veins.

Hip-hoppers will be happy to feast their ears on A$AP Rocky's debut platter 'Long Live A$AP,' while R&B diva Ashanti, who is still looking fine with a capital "F," shows us her 'Brave Heart.' Rapper J. Cole returns with 'Born Sinner,' too.

Punk rock legends Bad Religion return with 'True North,' the lead single of which is a rallying cry called 'F--- You.' Starting the year off with a two-finger salute, are ya boys?

Fans of stompy, mosh and roll hardcore will certainly appreciate Hatebreed's 'The Divinity of Purpose,' which is simple, efficient, beat-someone-to-a-pulp (in your mind, at least) metal.

Indie rock fans will be treated to new Ra Ra Riot with 'Beta Love.' If you aren't afraid to embrace your feminine side, or want to impress the ladies by faking like you actually have a softer side, then new album 'Heartthrob from lesbian sister act Tegan and Sara's new is all you.
