If the name of Nike's new 'Tauntaun' high-tops sounds only vaguely familiar it's because you aren't that big of a 'Star Wars' fan. The shoes are inspired by the famed creature that Luke Skywalker rides and Han Solo slices open at the beginning of 'The Empire Strikes Back.'

The Nike Tauntauns are made of wool and suede with gray tones to match the color scheme and style of the famed Hoth native. Examiner's Nike reporter explains that 'Star Wars' creator George Lucas hasn't given an official endorsement of the shoes so a release date hasn't been officially set.

Nike also didn't mention if the sneakers could be sliced open during particularly cold months or if its greasy innards could be used to keep from freezing to death.
