After Ohio State seemed to have the game in hand with under two minutes to play, Arizona chipped away until tying it on Mark Lyons' basket and subsequent free throw with 21.8 seconds left. Ohio State advanced to play Wichita State in the West Regional final on Saturday. Lyons led the Wildcats with 23 points, including several key baskets late.
