We throw around the term “toughness” with athletes all the time but we’re pretty sure that German weightlifter Matthias Steiner defines the word.
Steiner, currently competing in the super-heavyweight division at the 2012 Summer Olympics, was going for a gold medal lift of 432 pounds when he lost his balance and went crashing down to the mat. So where does the barbell land?
Somehow, Steiner was able to get up and walk off on his own.
