For most guys, our main concern when it comes to clothing is “did the blood stains come out?,” “does this smell too bad to wear one more day?” or “will this help me pick up girls?” Now televangelist Pat Robertson had to go and add demonic possession to our list of wardrobe worries.

On a recent episode of his show '700 Club,' Robertson read the following email from a viewer named Carrie who obviously has way too much time and not enough psychiatric care:

I buy a lot of clothes and other items at Goodwill and other secondhand shops. Recently my mom told me that I need to pray over the items, bind familiar spirits and bless the items before I bring them into the house. Is my mother correct? Can demons attach themselves to material items?

Pat Robertson went all Pat Robertson on this question, telling anecdotal stories of unnamed girls buying jewelry that had been prayed over by a witch and telling the viewer, “It ain’t going to hurt anything to rebuke any spirits that happened to have attached themselves to those clothes.”

He later tweeted an addendum to his followers: "If it’s dry clean only though, you and your demon clothes are on your own." (Or, we wish he had.)
