‘Ratatouille’ — Movies About Food

The Eater: Anton Ego (voice of Peter O'Toole), a snobby French food critic (is there any other kind?) taking in the culinary landscape of a once famous Parisian restaurant formerly gone to seed, but perhaps enjoying a miraculous revival.

The Food: As the film's title might suggest, a carefully prepared country dish of exquisite vegetables, expertly prepared.

The Hitch: Um, unbeknownst to the critic, the food, served at what was once a fine restaurant in Paris, is lovingly prepared by a rat named Remy (voice of Patton Oswalt) with a rare kind of culinary genius.

The End Result: So rhapsodic is Ego about his meal that he demands to meet the chef who created it, when he does, he is forced to change his entire life around, vastly for the better.
