Ceremonial first pitches can be quite entertaining, especially if the luminary selected to do the honors doesn't have enough arm to complete the toss. But just about the last word one would associate with the tradition is "creepy."

Thanks to Japan, now a creepy first pitch is a thing.

The odd-looking woman below starred as a ghost in the seminal Japanese horror film 'Ringu.' (Which was remade as 'The Ring' with Naomi Watts for English-speaking audiences.) As you can see, she remains in character during her pitch.

We're not sure what was more disturbing, the ghost woman with her strange hair and gait or the mascot's creepy reaction to the creepiness. Japan, you've done it again.
