More and more scientific evidence shows that taking a nap in the middle of the day can be hugely helpful to your productivity. But it's important to understand when the optimal time is to sneak in the snooze.

The general rule is that a half an hour is ideal, but the time of day is also variable. You want to get your nap when your REM cycle and deep sleep cycles intersect for maximum brain reboot.

Sure, you can just wing it, but if you're going to get the most out of your microsleep, why not put some science in it? Use the nap wheel at this site to determine your ideal nap time so you can synch that REM time. Just make sure to set an alarm to wake yourself up. And maybe print out some studies to show your boss if he feels like ripping you a new one.
