A cryptic email to us has revealed that the classic ‘Spy Vs. Spy’ game, based on the comic strip of the same name from Mad Magazine, is getting a remake.

The above image was titled mysteriousattachment.jpg and the sender mentioned that they had “found something over the weekend." It's certainly mysterious, wouldn't you say? It looks like an IP of some kind is returning from a long time away, though it may just be a simple black or white issue. We're sure there'll be lots of zany action to follow.”

Even if the name wasn’t plastered on it, the game would have been obvious. 'Spy Vs. Spy' was originally released for the Commodore 64, Apple II, and Atari 800 back in 1984 before being ported to everything from the NES and Game Boy, and even getting new games on the Xbox and PS2. The game sees the White Spy and Black Spy both trying to find a number of items at the same time, setting humorous booby traps at every piece of furniture and door along the way.

A little internet snooping about the developers mentioned at the bottom of the screenshot reveal that Robots and Pencils is an iOS developer, which is why it’s most likely coming to iPhones and iPads.

More info will certainly hit soon but it’s good to see this back!
