‘Super Mario Bros.’ Meets ‘Game of Thrones’ in the Old School Video Games Art Show

nineteeneightyeight.com

Here’s what you get when talented artists turn their attention to classic old school video games: ‘Super Mario Bros.’ gloriously mashed up with ‘Game of Thrones,’ Q-Bert’s pipe nose on Pac Man’s body, and an anti- ‘Space Invaders’ propaganda poster.

These are some of our favorite pieces from the Gallery 1988 ‘Old School Video Games — Level 2′ art show, now on display in Venice through November 24. But don’t worry if you can’t make it all the way to the beach to check out the show, we’ve got some highlights for you here. And we’re sure this won’t be the last time the show pops up somewhere. Maybe next time it’ll hit a gallery near you.
