Next up was the World Heavyweight Championship match between the Irish powerhouse and World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus and the Mexican mastermind, Alberto Del Rio.
Let's keep this fast paced show going. Up next -- the WWE Intercontinental Championship match between the returning Rey Mysterio against champion The Miz.
Before the show, Smackdown's Antonio Cesaro defeated Santino Marella to become the WWE United States champion. Now onto Chris Jericho versus Dolph Ziggler.
Last night saw Monday Night Raw take place in Laredo, Texas, which sits on the border with Mexico. The crowd had some fun chanting some things in Spanish, like Daniel Bryan’s “Yes!” chants, to the joy of pretty much everyone. Myself included.
On last week’s WWE Raw, Vince McMahon’s job assessment of John Lauranaitis came to an end, and the answer was not favourable for the general manager of both Raw and Smackdown. After Big Show’s disappointing outcome at WWE’s No Way Out PPV, things got worse as Vince McMahon uttered his most famous phrase: “You’re fired!”
Sometimes I get bored with the characters WWE creative gives their wrestlers. So, I like to make up new ones. My all time favorite creation is "Racist Rey Mysterio Jr.", with Nazi Propagandist Dolph Ziggler a close second. But tonight there is one more character I’m going to introduce you to in this edition of the Monday Night Raw recap.
After a suspension most considered unnecessary, Chris Jericho will finally return to Monday Night Raw next week. Although this return may not be amongst his best, it will certainly be nice to have him back.
I read something not too long ago on “the dirt sheets” about how TNA was talking about the lack of importance of pay-per-views going forward for their company.
I can’t remember the last time I paid for a WWE pay-per-view like I did for tonight’s edition of “No Way Out”.
When they first started showing highlights from past editions of Monday Night Raw, Triple H did a segment where, without any sort of irony, he said his favorite Raw moment was when he returned from his quadricep injury in 2002. So basically, in the thousand episodes of a show that’s been on the air since 1993, Triple H’s favorite moment involved ... Triple H.
Last week, there were rumors that Chris Jericho would leave the WWE for good. After last night's controversial display, there's no doubt he'll be staying away from the ring for a good chunk of time.
From top to bottom, this week’s ‘Monday Night Raw’ was a pretty fun, impressive affair. Sure, you could find things to nitpick about, like the fact that Big Show vs. Cody Rhodes is nothing new, or, naturally, the obligatory Divas Match, but all-in-all, it was a fun show with some great wrestling, interesting developments and even a SHOCKING RETURN.
This week has seen some pretty mighty fine WWE product hit the airwaves, including the awesome ‘Extreme Rules’ pay-per-view and a perfectly entertaining ‘Monday Night Raw’ the night afterward. While you won’t be seeing guys like Brock Lesnar, John Cena or CM Punk on this week's 'SmackDown,' all signs (meaning dirt sheet show reports) point to this being a solid two hours of rasslin entertainment.
Following up on the the absolutely awesome ‘Extreme Rules’ pay-per-view, the WWE put on a ‘Monday Night Raw’ designed to answer all your lingering questions from the night before.
Less than a month after ‘WrestleMania XXVIII,’ WWE put on its ‘Extreme Rules’ show, an annual opportunity to trot out more gimmick matches than you can shake a stick at.
These days, most WWE-related talk is centered around the return of Brock Lesnar and the former UFC Heavyweight Champion’s impending match against John Cena at ‘Extreme Rules’ this Sunday. But just because the biggest happs are all going down on Monday nights doesn’t mean there isn’t some fun stuff to catch on ‘Friday Night SmackDown’ each week.
As opposed to the normal pretape-on-Tuesday to air-on-Friday deal, this week’s ‘SmackDown’ ran live on Tuesday night, presumably as a way to clear the deck and rearrange everyone’s travel schedule for WWE’s impending European tour.
