It's long been rumored that 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' would not only be utilizing an absurdly large cast but also featuring something fans have been waiting to see brought to life on the big screen: Sentinels. Those nasty robots have given the X-Men so much grief throughout the entire comic book series, and now you'll be happy to know that they will indeed be heavily featured in Bryan Singer's latest movie installment.

Back when Matthew Vaughn was still set to direct 'Days of Future Past,' Marvel creative consultant Mark Millar stated that the film as it was would involve, among other things, "giant robots." When Vaughn dropped out, however, we were left wondering whether to still expect these Sentinel mutant killers. Well, Millar has once again settled our doubts with a recent SFX interview, saying:

I don’t really want to give too much away but the Sentinels are a big feature of this story. They will be cool and this will deliver on all of the teasers. We’ve all been waiting for this ever since X-Men: The Last Stand showed us one of their heads. Now it is finally coming, and we only have to pay ten quid to see it in the cinema whereas they’re having to pay $100 million to deliver it. So I’m delighted

Also to put on the backburner is that while Millar neither confirmed nor denied Shadow Cat (Ellen Page) as one of the main players in the 'Days of Future Past' story, he did say that "Kitty Pryde fans will not be disappointed."

As previously mentioned, 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' will see the return of a truck load of past stars from the original trilogy -- Singer confirmed that, along with Page, Anna Paquin (Rogue), Shawn Ashmore (Ice Man), Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Patrick Stewart (Professor Xavier) and Ian McKellen (Magneto) will be teaming with the cast of 'X-Men: First Class,' though more casting announcements will be revealed as production gets further underway.

In the mean time, what do you think about this latest development? Are you excited to see Sentinels finally getting a big-screen feature? Which other past 'X-Men' stars would you like to see return? Give us your theories in the comments.
