It seems like video games have gotten less difficult over the years. They now handhold you through dozens of tutorials that take up half the game and spend the other half throwing up “helpful” hints and tips just in case you forgot. There’s on screen diagrams and auto aiming modes, easy difficulty and the ability to skip levels if they’re too difficult. Have gamers become wusses? There used to be a time whnen you didn’t have regenertaing health and unlimited lives. It was a wonderful time of controller-snapping frustration. If you’re up for an old school level of insane difficulty, these 10 hardest video games ever will make you want to hurl your own face through the screen.

    Ghosts N' Goblins

The most difficult games were certainly clusters in the original NES corner. They were like evil rabid animals waiting to strike out at your ego and gaming prowess. One such game was Ghosts N' Goblins. Like another game on this list, it used its gameplay to scare the hell out of you. With each inch forward, you were always terrified of what demon would elude your spears and knock your armor off. Battling ghosts and goblins in your skivvies never ends well.
