Without Half-Life, shooters as we know them wouldn't exist. Without Half-Life 2, they wouldn't be nearly as well done. Valve's landmark title serves as a blueprint of what every game should have, with a compelling story and incredible physics, sound effects, animation, graphics, AI, puzzles-  the works.

Never mind that you're trying to free the population from a dystopian future. It's the kind of game you'll go back and play just to see how else you could have gone through things- can you get through the whole game using just the Gravity Gun, for instance? It's fun to try it in Ravenholm...
