If there's one thing gamers like, it's customization. So it's no surprise that Minecraft was such a success, since it lets you create entire worlds. Very blocky ones. Just do a few searches around the internet and you'll see any location you can think of recreated in the game.
Minecraft is open-ended, simple, yet hopelessly addictive. Most of the game sees you mining blocks of various substances during the day to set up shelters to protect you from the horrors of the night, although there are a few different modes of play.
The Xbox 360 version sold more than a million units globally in less than a week, even though it doesn't have nearly as many features as the PC edition. It's also available in smaller versions for iOS and Android. Keep mining!
