The third Panzer Dragoon game took the on-rails shooter and turned it into a sprawling RPG. Set during a post-apocalyptic future where monsters roam the lands (but fortunately so do you, on a dragon), it sees a young soldier named Edge trying to save a girl from some baddies and uncovering secrets along the way.

One of the most cinematic games of its time, the game eschewed typical static RPG combat, instead taking advantage of its mid-air and making use of lots of swooping camera angles to keep things lively. Unlike the other games in the series the flying sections are wide open and you can explore it at your whim- even getting off and exploring the world on foot.

A very rare Saturn title that only got a limited release, copies regularly go for hundreds of dollars on ebay. If any game deserved an HD remaster, this is it. It also deserves some new box art, because just look to the left and try not to laugh.
