The best thing to come out of the Star Wars franchise since Return of the Jedi, Knights of the Old Republic (affectionately abbreviated as KOTOR) is the real deal, and easily tells a more compelling and sensical story than any of the prequel films.

While no familiar characters are in the game, since it takes place 4,000 years before the Galactic Empire even exists, it still manages to tie itself into the canon and feel faithful to the franchise. As Bioware proved later on with Mass Effect, there's nothing like a game that lets you constantly make important decisions. True to most of the developer's games you can play KOTOR as a good or bad guy, but here's a warning. If you choose the evil path you can be truly despicable and pull off perhaps the most f-ed up act in gaming history. Zaalbar, no!
