There's nothing like playing a futuristic ninja that wields a plasma sword, taking out enemies in the Soviet Union to assassinate a dictator. The Arcade version of Strider is still one of the best action titles around, one that allows your character an extraordinary amount of movement. Eight-way controls combine with the jump button to perform cartwheel jumps, slide under obstacles, scale ceilings with metal hooks and grab onto platforms. Power-ups can extend his powers or even give him robot companions like a tiger or hawk.

Strider is one of the coolest characters around, and it was nice to see him get a spot in Marvel Vs. Capcom. (Note to those who've only played the NES version -- you haven't played Strider.) The Genesis port was much better, but the Arcade version still is king.
