Super Mario World is Mario's finest hour and the perfect showcase for the SNES. That silly raccoon tail was replaced by the far superior cape and Yoshi and all his friends were introduced, offering up oodles of levels in a beautiful, cartoony world.

It's been re-released a handful of times, with hardly any changes, and the reason is simple -- you can't improve upon perfection. Still an absolute joy to play, Super Mario World is our choice for the greatest game ever made.
