We already knew that sexy Florence + the Machine singer Florence Welch had an impressive set of pipes, and now we know she has a gift for comedy as well. Her duet with Jimmy Fallon on last night’s ‘Late Show,’ in which the two sang the Fallon favorite tune ‘Balls In Your Mouth,’ was one of the funniest things we’d seen all day.

The performance inspired us to name the 26-year-old UK singer our Crush of the Day.

Welch released her first album with Florence + The Machine, titled ‘Lungs,’ in 2009. The digital version of the album was released in the US. that year and reached the top of the Billboard Heatseekers Album charts. The album’s success was due in part to the early release of the single ‘Kiss with a fist,’ which hit radio and movie and TV soundtracks in 2008. The track was featured in ‘Jennifer’s Body,’ ‘The Vampire diaries’ and ‘Saving Grace.’

The album’s second singles ‘Dog Days are Over’ hit big in the U.S. with tons of radio airplay. It was also featured on ‘Glee,’ ‘ Gossip Girl,’ Community’ and other TV shows.

The band’s second album, ‘Ceremonials,’ was released last year and made the top ten in the US Billboard 200 charts and received critical raves.

Welch reportedly received troubling news about possible vocal cord damage last July, leading her to cancel scheduled live performance dates and take a year off before recording her next album.
