Bizarre German Public Bathroom Ad Makes NO Sense
If there's one thing that shouldn't need advertising, it's a bathroom. We all use them. We all need them. They'll always be in demand.
Which makes this so -- what's the word? -- strange? Insane? Absurd? Creepy? Yes, yes, yes and yes.
This is a commercial for Sanifair, a company which makes public toilets. In this spot, a girl whose voice is horrendously dubbed over is way too impressed way too easily. That's because she is simply in awe of all the cool amenities that are available in Sanifair's public bathrooms.
We especially like how they boast restrooms for the disabled are no extra charge. That just seems like a no-brainer to us, but, hey, we guess things are different in Deutschland.
The girl also thinks touch-free flushing is "real magic" and calls herself a "magician" when using the self-cleaning toilet.
Then, she gets a voucher that lets her buy an ice cream for a discounted price. That just seems weird. Do public bathrooms really need to entice people with frozen treats?
There are just so many WTF moments in this commercial, but perhaps the one that stands out the most is the one you don't even realize: it runs three-and-a-half minutes. You can do your business in a filthy Exxon restroom with a chalk outline of the guy who got bumped during a drug deal gone wrong in that time.
