The fact that we're discussing season 9 of a scripted TV show is astounding. No one could have dreamed that FX's series 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' would have reached this level of success.

The network has already picked it up for two more seasons so we will have at least 10 seasons with the gang at Paddy's Pub. Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton, Kaitlin Olsen, Rob McElhenney and Danny Devito will all return in their roles and big news has already leaked about season 9 of 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.'

Here's a look at some of the information we've found out already about the new season.

In an interview with Zap2it, Charlie Day was asked if his obsession with The Waitress, who is played by Mary Elizabeth Ellis, his real-life wife, would ever come to fruition. While he doubts it will ever actually happen, he did give us this preview for the new season.

"I will say this: There is a bit of a fantasy sequence that may be animated, and influenced by some Pixar movies, and you may get to see, potentially, what would happen if it worked out."

This wouldn't be the first time the show has incorporated animation. The Sunny Christmas special included a claymation segment that involved Frank's disembowelment and full frontal elf nudity so it will be interesting to see where the Pixar-inspired scene goes.

  • An Episode Was Written by the Game of Thrones Showrunners

Sunny creator and star, Rob McElhenney, told Zap2it that one of the episodes in season 9 'Always Sunny' was actually written by 'Game of Thrones' showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. No word on if the episode will have a Game of Thrones theme but we'll definitely look forward to seeing their take on the world of Sunny.

  • Two Big Celebrity Cameos Have Been Announced

While 'Sunny' has incorporated several guest celebrity appearances over its 8 seasons, none may be bigger than the upcoming year.

ScreenCrush has confirmed that Josh Groban and 'Breaking Bad's' Aaron Paul will each appear in episodes of the hit show.

While we don't know what capacity they'll be portrayed, we do know from past episodes that Dee is a huge Groban fan so we'll see if she finally gets to come face to face with her obsession.

  • This Season...Won't Air On FX?

Before you panic, the show isn't moving very far. Fox is launching a sister network to FX called FXX and to help get it off the ground it's moving the highly popular series to the new channel along with 'The League' and a slew of other new programming.

  • FX Has Launched a Series of Swedish Promos For Season 9

While we're not sure if the new promos for season 9 will incorporate into any episodes, the black and white Swedish arthouse promos should be a good sign that the series will continue to reinvent itself and push the envelope for bizarre and original episodes. You can watch them all here.
