Both Best Buy and Gamestop have indicated Naughty Dog's The Last of Us will not arrive on the expected May 7th release date.

Instead, both North American retailers now point to a June 18th launch date for the anticipated post-apocalyptic adventure game. According to a tweet spotted by CVG, Best Buy has already started emailing pre-order customers to make them aware of the pending delay.

Naughty Dog only recently revealed the limited edition versions of The Last of Us, and also announced a demo of the game would be included with all copies of God of War: Ascension. More and more major titles are seeing delays close to their anticipated launch dates, but since Naughty Dog and Sony haven't actually mentioned the delay themselves, this one comes as a bit of a surprise.
