Sheamus Defeats Alberto Del Rio – WWE Summerslam 2012 Results

Next up was the World Heavyweight Championship match between the Irish powerhouse and World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus and the Mexican mastermind, Alberto Del Rio.

We knew going in this was going to be a rough and tough match, and it was exactly as described. A brawl from the start, the two went back and forth both in and out of the ring before Del Rio slowed the match down with submission attempts and power moves.

Del Rio focused on the left arm as the match wore on, obviously weakening Del Rio for the cross arm breaker. After exchanging finishing maneuvers, it was a boot that made the difference.

Although Del Rio's foot was on the rope, the referee counted the 1-2-3 for Sheamus to defeat Del Rio in an entertaining match.
