Bull Testicle Beer Is Now a Real Thing
The wily rednecks of Denver’s Wynkoop Brewing Company have always had a lot of balls when it comes to how they brew their beer, but their brewmasters have really gone nuts this time. These mad scientists have just announced the release of their latest product - Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout – made with freshly castrated bull testicles.
What started out as an April Fool’s Day gag video about a bogus brew manufactured with bull testicles has become a reality. According to representatives from Wynkoop Brewing, the phony product was met with such a warm reception back in April that the company had no choice but to start brewing it for real.
And by God, these fiends have done it: brewing a beer that according to the Wynkoop website, is "an assertive foreign-style stout, slightly viscous, with a deep brown color. It has equally deep flavors of chocolate syrup, Kahlua, and espresso, along with a palpable level of alcohol and a savory umami-like note. It finishes dry and roasted with a fast-fading hop bite.” We must admit that we were not aware that bull nuts tasted like chocolate and Kahlua. Maybe we've been missing out?
While we’re not entirely convinced that sucking on a bottle full of gonad juice is something we would enjoy, we are rather impressed with the beverage’s 7 percent ABV at 3 BPB’s (balls per barrel). However, we are curious to see the formula that dictates two cows become sexual cripples for one and a quarter barrel of beer.
Wynkoop Brewing plans to make Rocky Mountain Oyster Stout available next week during the Great American Beer Festival, in Denver.
So, what is next in the mad, mad world of brewing: turkey pecker ale, perhaps? Just in time for Thanksgiving, although we really do not want to give them any ideas.
