There hasn't been an official announcement of the game just yet, but listings on Amazon have revealed that 'Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse' is in the works for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

While Amazon has a release date of September 25th, 2012 announced, the site is notorious for putting up dates before they're set in stone, so take it with a grain of salt. There's no other info on the game just yet besides the box art, which reveals Activison as the publisher.

Judging from the game's title it's likely that it will be patterned after the first episode of the eighth season of the show,  'Road to the Multiverse', which saw Stewie and Brian using a TV remote to go through various parallel universes. It's certainly a solid concept for a video game and one that will allow the game to place the characters in different genres and settings.

Let's just hope it's better than Family Guy Online or that awful, awful game that hit the PS2, Xbox and PSP in 2006.
