Donating to a cause can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. And, while we encourage you to find the time to give to charities helping cure diseases and aiding the unfortunate, we must say that contributing a buck or two to the building of a Millennium Falcon golf cart could change your life.

Let's face it: those royalties from merchandising must disappear quickly when you are 7'3" with an appetite. As noted '90s philosopher Fredrick Durst might suggest, you can do it all for the Wookiee.

A fundraising campaign on Kickstarter seeks donations so that the Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus, a New Orleans-based organization that participates in Mardi Gras and other parades, can build a Millennium Falcon golf cart for Peter Mayhew, the actor who played Chewbacca in 'Star Wars.'

See, Mayhew is the group's official "Emperor for Life," because — are you paying attention? — OF COURSE HE IS, and they wish to provide him with a permanent "seat of honor and glory," hence the Millennium Falcon golf cart. The organization expects Mayhew and his wife, Angie, to ride in the 'Lil Falcon in the Chewbacchus 2013 Parade.

The Intergalactic Krewe of Chewbacchus' original goal was $4,200, but they have already raised $4,438 thanks to 84 backers. If the Krewe gets enough cash, perhaps they can build a fleet of the Falcons. The campaign ends on Sept. 16. Chewbacchus is slated for Saturday, Feb 9, 2013.
