‘SNL’ Taps ‘Django Unchained’s Christoph Waltz as Next Host
'SNL's recent run of putting musicians in the hosting position may have failed to impress, between such stars as Maroon 5's Adam Levine, Bruno Mars, and likely this Saturday's Justin Bieber double-feature, but movie stars will take back the limelight on February 16 when 'Django Unchained' and 'Inglorious Basterds' star Christoph Waltz takes the stage as host for the first time! Joined by the Alabama Shakes, what can we expect from Waltz's first turn on the 'SNL' stage? Find out inside!
Jamie Foxx may have been front and center both in his recent 'SNL' turn and Quentin Tarantino's 'Django Unchained,' but once again co-star Christoph Waltz may steal the spotlight. NBC has announced that the Austrian-German star will make his first 'SNL' appearance as host on February 16, joined by fellow 'Saturday Night Live' first-timers the Alabama Shakes.
So, can we expect a 'Django Unchained' sketch, as we were denied when Jamie Foxx himself appeared? Perhaps something skewering Tarantino altogether? We'll have to sit through February 9th's Justin Bieber outing first, but hopefully Christoph Waltz will prove well worth the wait.
What say you? Are you excited to see 'Django Unchained's Christoph Waltz take the 'SNL' stage for the first time? Will Waltz prove as adept at sketch comedy as his eccentric Tarantino characters? Give us your predictions in the comments!
