‘The Hunger Games’ — Movies About Food

The Eater: Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), a teenager selected to compete in the annual cruel and barbaric tradition that pits teens from 12 area districts in a fight to the death.

The Food: A loaf of bread, made by the baker father of Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), who sees Katniss starving and performs a not-so-random act of kindness for her and her desperate family by tossing her one of the loaves.

The Hitch: Peeta has ulterior motives -- he's already intrigued by Katniss -- but this little bonding session ultimately results in them both surviving the Games when it is revealed that they are very much in love and would rather both die than sacrifice each other.

The End Result: They live to fight again, as they say. Though the love they share might very well be nothing more than a calculated strategy to survive.
