The sequel to Maniac Mansion is hilarious but and how could it not be?
Day of the Tentacle features a sentient purple tentacle (named -- surprise, surprise -- Purple Tentacle) who drinks toxic waste from a river behind the lab he was created, accidentally gaining arms and increased intelligence. What's the first thing he decides to do with his new brains and hands? Take over the world, of course.
You play a wacky cast of characters that are trying to stop him. Since it's too late to prevent his domination of the Earth, they travel back in time to prevent the tentacle from ever filling his slimy appendage with the toxic waste.
As with most of the classic LucasArts titles, the real joy is the incredible sense of humor that the game displays. One of the true laugh-out-loud funny games in existence.
