No. 63: Double Dragon – 100 Greatest Games Ever

One of the first successful beat 'em ups ever made, the Arcade version of Double Dragon still holds up as one of the best. Twin brothers Billy Lee and Jimmy influenced competitors for years and years before beating the hell out of them with their combined might, the quest to find their true love Marian stronger than anything or anyone.

Many gamers know Double Dragon from the NES version, but are unaware that besides the simplified graphics it also lacked the best (and titular) bit, the co-op gameplay. The funniest part was getting to the end and defeating the final boss with both players. Since both Billy and Jimmy want to take Marian away with them, there's only one way to settle this -- fight it out. Winner gets the girl.
