No. 69: Team Fortress 2 – 100 Greatest Games Ever
Team-based multiplayer doesn't get any better than Team Fortress 2, Valve's incredible series. The cartoon-y look helped with the game's great sense of humor and to distinguish it from all the other shooters out there. Just trying out each of the nine unique classes will suck up hours of your time, but getting good at one of them will take days. There are tons of weapons and accessories to earn for each class, not to mention hats.
Don't bother with the Xbox 360 or PS3 versions included in the Orange Box sets. While they're both great by themselves, the PC and Mac versions are still getting regular updates and additions to the game, a massive community that's still thriving five years after release. Even better, Valve has decided to offer it up for free. No excuses.
